During our November trip to New York City I had the honor of being one of the first people to dine at The Blue Box Cafe at Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue. Being a huge Breakfast at Tiffany’s fan – my bridal shower was actually themed after the iconic Audrey Hepburn film – I think you can imagine just how excited I was for this opportunity. In fact, I may have taken it a little too far …
I started my day listening to “Moon River,” wearing my husband’s white shirt a la Holly Golightly and my face mask.
After getting dressed in my LBD and donning a pearl necklace and a tiara, we took a cab down Fifth Avenue. On the way we picked up a pre-breakfast croissant and tea from one of my favorite New York institutions, Bouchon Bakery. Prior to our breakfast reservations, we squeezed in a few shots out front of Tiffany & Co.
Inside Tiffany’s, on the fourth floor, is the beautiful Blue Box Cafe. The walls are draped in their signature blue, as well as the chairs and tea cups.
There are three menu options at The Blue Box Cafe and all are prix fixe. You can indulge in lunch or afternoon tea. However, in the true spirit of the film, I ordered breakfast. Every breakfast comes with a croissant and fresh fruit and then you have the choice of entree. I decided on the waffle with seasonal fruit and Vermont maple syrup. It was delicious!
It was such a lovely way to spend a morning in New York City and it allowed me to live out my fantasy of having breakfast at Tiffany’s.
