This Blog was Born out of a Need to Express Myself
While I feel like I was born to be a writer (I wrote my first novel on a Lion King notebook when I was in second grade – not my best work), I started blogging because I was feeling unfulfilled. Every job I’ve ever had I’ve pretty much stumbled into it. Originally I wanted to be an actress but when I discovered that I preferred to write about the theater instead of appearing on the stage, I fell into print and multimedia journalism. Then the market crashed as I was about to graduate college so I decided to go right back for my masters in broadcast journalism. Then a family friend introduced me to the GM of the first station I ended up working at as a producer, writer, news anchor, TV show host … you get the picture. So when I fell into a job in PR that I absolutely loathed, I knew I needed an outlet in my life. Voilà! Fashionably Kate & Co. was born. This is the first time I consciously chosen a career.
When I’m not Traveling or working to Promote Brands, I write for other Small Businesses
A few years ago when I decided not to return to my PR job after my maternity leave to pursue blogging fulltime, my friend Jessie Wyman approached me and asked me to write for her photography business. Now I have several regular clients that rely on me to keep their blogs updated, as well as some one-offs here and there. Even as the blogging side of my business has taken off, I still love writing for others because it keeps my skills sharp and with my ADHD, it gives me some work diversity. If you are a small business looking to refresh your website’s copy or keep your blog updated, I’d love to chat! You can email me or DM me to find out more about my services.
This Year I’m Focusing on Connecting with You All!
The point of this space is to share travel tips, fashion inspiration, and my journey learning to navigate life with a little girl (and a baby on the way now!). Really what I strive to do is combine all three so I can help mamas to plan dream trip itineraries to amazing destinations that allows them to bring their littles along for the ride all while looking fashionable during their travels. A tall order, I know, but I believe that anything is possible if you are willing to do the work – and I want to do the work for you!
So enough about me, what about you? I want to know what you want to see on this website. DM me and tell me about yourself, what you love to do and how I can help you plan your dream vacation!
