The Slippers that Saved my Feet

I am a shoe lover. Over the years I’ve made a small investment in curating an amazing shoe collection of which I am very proud. But since the beginning of the pandemic, that shoe collection has been gathering dust in my closet. What I have been wearing all the time since last March – slippers! However, after a few months of wearing slippers with no support every day, all day, I started noticing that my back and hip were aching all the time. Guys, writing this makes me sound so old. But for Christmas, I gave myself a pair of top-of-the-line slippers and I am a completely different person. Now I’m sharing the comfy, cozy slippers that saved my feet, and possibly my life!

The Ugg Dakota Slipper is comfy, cozy (a big bonus for those of us living in New England in the winter) and has great support. The sole is also non-slip which is a huge help for when I’m walking Arielle up and downstairs. They are on the pricier side, and usually, I would never pay this much for a pair of slippers. But they really have helped with my back and hip pain and I never have sore feet! Right now they’re only available in a few colors and sizes, but here are a few other great choices.

Moccasins

Moccasins are always a smart choice. The only thing I don’t love is having to keep the shearling clean. They can also take on a smell if you don’t take proper care of them. Another great brand for mocassins is L.L. Bean. 

Other Styles

I have also become a huge fan of Birdies. Are they slippers? Are they shoes? I don’t know! They’re so comfortable, they feel like slippers. But they’re so chic, especially their trademark Starlings, they look like a pair of high-end flats.
