The Hilton Mystic is a charming and convenient hotel that perfectly captures the nautical spirit of this historic Connecticut town. From its ideal location to its family-friendly amenities and welcoming atmosphere, our recent stay exceeded expectations.
Comfortable Accommodations with Thoughtful Touches
Our standard room with two full beds was spacious and comfortable, with the added bonus of a Pack ‘n Play already set up for our youngest, Aurora. The incredibly clean room and bathroom were a welcome relief for this mom of a wandering toddler! We also appreciated the gentle bath products and the thoughtful welcome gifts for the girls – Mystic, CT t-shirts, a stuffed elephant, and a stuffed octopus, courtesy of the lovely C.C. at the front desk.
Amenities to Keep the Whole Family Happy
While I enjoyed some downtime in the room and Aurora took a much needed nap, Arielle and Alex had a blast splashing around in the hotel’s indoor pool. The location of the Hilton Mystic is ideal, just minutes from downtown Mystic and the Mystic Seaport Museum. It’s also conveniently located across the street from the Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mistick Village, where we explored charming shops like Alice’s Haunted Little Bookshop, Alice’s in the Village, and The Cloak & Wand. We were also able to sign into our Netflix account thanks to the SmartTV in our room which made Arielle very happy that she could keep up on her Holiday Baking Challenge episodes!
Delicious Dining and Festive Fun
The hotel restaurant, The Irons, offers a delicious menu with options for both adults and kids. I especially enjoyed the grown-up version of their mac and cheese, and the “Ozmopolitan” cocktail was a fun nod to the new Wicked film. Our server was incredibly helpful when we needed to take our desserts to go (thanks to a restless toddler!).
We also had the pleasure of attending the hotel’s “Breakfast with Santa” event. The festive atmosphere, delicious buffet, and the chance to meet Santa (who played the saxophone!) made for a memorable morning. C.C. even captured some adorable photos of the family with Santa, presented in a festive folder.
A Nautical Retreat with a Touch of Magic
The Hilton Mystic’s nautical theme and unique photo ops throughout the property added a touch of whimsy to our stay. The welcoming fireplace in the lobby was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The fact that it was well decorated for the holidays, including a few magical touches (check my IG feed for more on this) kept life festive for our family. And with amenities like luggage carts, ample parking, a microwave, and a mini-fridge in the room, the hotel catered to all our family’s travel needs.
Final Verdict
The Hilton Mystic is a fantastic choice for families seeking a comfortable and convenient base for exploring Mystic, CT. With its friendly staff, well-appointed rooms, and prime location, it’s a hotel we’ll happily return to for future New England adventures.
