Today is National Shop for Travel Day and there is nothing I like more than booking my next adventure. Actually, I lied, I love two things more: shopping for supplies (and outfits) for my trip and then actually traveling. Here is how to shop for your next trip, my favorite travel tips so that you can get the best deal on your next vacation and my favorite products to make the most of your experience. (And for more advice, check out my tips for how to stay healthy while traveling!)
Tip #1
Use the Incognito Window while Shopping for and Booking Hotels and Flights
Your website browser records your search history, even on different travel sites. So if you go to JetBlue and search for flights to Florida more than once, the prices for the dates you’re searching will go up. But if you do the same thing using an incognito window, it will not record that search activity and the prices will not go up based on your web history. However, it still may climb as you get closer to your desired travel dates!
Tip #2
Pay Attention to the Calendar
According to Travel & Leisure, the best time to book domestic travel is around 64 days before your departure date. But it depends on the time of year you’re traveling. For flights to Europe, plan to book about 180 days prior.
Tip #3
Plan your Travel on Off Peak Days
Everyone wants to maximize their vacation days and travel on weekend days, but you’ll be better off picking Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for your arrangements. Those also happen to be cheaper days for hotel stays so it’s a win-win.
Now we get to my favorite part, shopping! Here are some of my favorite travel products for everyone. Click on the product to shop!
