It’s Canada Day! Today commemorates the anniversary of the Constitution Act, which consolidated three territories into the single nation of Canada, in 1867. Though I don’t live in Canada, part of my family immigrated to the U.S. from Canada (and before that, they were in France), and it played a huge part in my upbringing. Starting when I was a pre-teen, we would visit Québec City in Québec, Canada, a few times a year. I could walk that city, both the upper and lower villes, blindfolded.
I haven’t been since 2017, but I cannot wait to take Arielle on her first trip to this beautiful country. I can’t wait for her to see Le Château Frontenac, enjoy a delicious meal at Sous le Fort, and shop at Le Maison Simons. If you want to read more about my must-dos in Québec City, check out my list of 8 things you must do in Québec City.
So Happy Canada Day to all of my Canadian readers!
