It’s always fun when Valentine’s Day falls on a weekend like this year. But unfortunately with the pandemic, most of us will be (and should be) spending the day at home instead of going out on a romantic date. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the holiday. Here are a few Valentine’s Day date ideas and what to wear.
Since it’s a Sunday, why not make brunch the main attraction?
Brunch is my favorite meal. Seriously. When else can you have both savory favorites and sweet treats in one sitting?! Here are a few tools to create a picture-perfect breakfast.
Who to Enjoy With
Either your whole family or your significant other
What to wear
Have a Rom-Com Marathon
Settle in for a marathon of iconic romantic comedies. Whether you’re a weeper or you like to watch them ironically, you’ll still have a great day checking out some favs on Netflix (Always Be My Maybe, My Best Friend’s Wedding), Hulu (The Wedding Planner, La La Land), Amazon Prime (His Girl Friday) and Disney+ (10 Things I Hate About You).
Who to Enjoy With
Your Roommates or Your Mom
What to Wear
Order in your Favorite Meal
Just because we can’t dine in right now, doesn’t mean you can’t support your favorite local restaurants by ordering take out? Just remember to order a little earlier this year due to an increase in takeout demand. And make sure to leave a good tip!
Who to Enjoy With
Your Significant Other
What to Wear
Have a Dance Party
Either turn on the Frozen soundtrack (again) or maybe pull out some vinyl records and give the kids an education as you pull back the furniture, roll up the rug and dance the day away!
Who to Enjoy With
Your Kids
What to Wear
Plan a Game Night
A game can either provide an opportunity for some wholesome fun or some major flirtations. My favorite family games are Clue or Monopoly. For a date idea, maybe play 20 Questions, or Never Have I Ever and see where the night takes you.
Who to Enjoy With
Depending on the game, you can play with the whole family or your significant other/crush
What to Wear
Plan a Future Trip
Since we can’t go anywhere right this moment, why not take advantage of the time we have and plan out a romantic adventure while curled up on the couch? Pick a destination, the sites you’d like to see, and the activities you’d like to try. If you want to take it a step further, price it out, hotels and all, and then start saving! Maybe by the time we can get back to traveling, you’ll have enough to jump on a plane and go since the the trip will already be planned!
Who to Enjoy With
Your Favorite Travel Companion
What to Wear
Take a Remote Class
Just in Boston I found an Aphrodisiac Valentine’s Day Cooking Class, a Photography Class, and a Mochi Making Workshop, all taking place on Valentine’s Day. But because they’re remote, most of them through Zoom, you can attend from anywhere!
Who to Enjoy With
Just Yourself or Your Significant Other
