What We’ve been Loving Lately (June Edition)

June 29, 2022

Welcome back to our monthly series – What We’ve Been Loving Lately! This is the fifth installment of our wrap-up of some of the things we’ve been into over the past few weeks. If you haven’t read the May edition, you can check that out too for some great suggestions on new shows and products. So, here’s what we’ve been loving lately …

Pink, Pink, Pink

I have a complicated relationship with pink. It’s my mom’s favorite color and it was what I wore for the majority of my young life. So of course when I started dressing myself I rebelled by wearing all black all the time. But then I actually matured and found that I really love pink (if you can’t tell by this entire website, then go check out my Reel for National Pink Day). And now Arielle says her favorite color is pink. So everything in our house is pink, sparkles, and fuzzy. I am loving it.

We are so busy!

Which is the good news. I have been working on some really great collaborations with Arsenal Yards in Watertown (an awesome place for date night), The Stone Zoo and their new Supersized Creatures! Exhibit (the perfect day with the kids), the PEM and the Patrick Kelly: Runway of Love show, LensDirect, B.Good, JuicyGreens and Make it Minnie jewelry. Some of these collabs have already gone live, some will be posted in July and I have a bunch more in the works that I cannot share yet so make sure you stay tuned to the blog and my IG to see what’s happening!

July 4th Movie Marathon

When I have time, I’ve been working through my favorite summer movies in preparation for July 4th. Though people consider the holiday to be the unofficial end of summer, I refuse to buy into that. Especially because my birthday is in August and that is a holiday in and of itself.

Pool Days

If it’s a hot day, we always make time for a few splashes in the pool. Arielle loves hanging out in her little kiddie pool and I’ll sit next to her in a lounge chair while dipping my toes in. It’s such a great way for us to spend some time together and keep cool!

What we Bought in June

We have a bit of a mishmash of what we bought in June. I grabbed this cheeky sign for my cousin’s new chicken coop. And I am loving these Stride Rite sandals that I got for Arielle that I ended up buying her a second pair. I also refreshed my supply of hair care products. I keep the pink looking bright with this color-deposting shampoo, and I get rid of hard water build-up in my strands using this wellness shampoo.

We are prepping for July 4th and we have some awesome events in our town so I got this prop for a costume I’m working on for Arielle. Anyone have a guess what she’ll be dressed as during the wagon parade? And for Father’s Day I gave my husband this life-changing shirt for our more informal events. I ended up having to return it for a larger size because these shirts run small so if you do shop UntuckIt, keep that in mind.

Now, onto what we’re Not Loving

Covid finally hit our house. After 2 years of playing it safe and avoiding the direct effects of this pandemic I saw that dreaded little positive line on a Covid test a few weeks ago. I felt like I had been having a bad sinus infection, which was less than fun. But I am so grateful that Alex had no symptoms as well as Arielle who up until now has been too young to get the vaccine. We are now officially Covid negative but it has made me more aware of where I may have been getting lax with wearing my mask. However in the end, we were actually wearing masks when I think we got it so that may have a lot to do with just how contagious this current strain is. That being said – I am going to continue masking up and socially distancing because I do not want to go through this again.

So what have you been loving lately? I’d love it if you’d email or DM me your recommendations.

What it’s Like to Have a Miscarriage

Quiet on the set, darlings. 🥂💻 I missed The Trait Quiet on the set, darlings. 🥂💻

I missed The Traitors last night, and I am currently in a state of high-stakes catch-up.

Consider this my formal warning: Do not call, do not text, and for the love of all things velvet and dramatic, NO SPOILERS. If you ruin the banishment for me, I’m voting you off the island—or at least out of my group chat.

I’ve got my champagne, my cozy spot, and a burning need to know who’s being “banished” next. See you on the other side of the Highlands! 🏰✨

Sometimes the most beautiful parts of motherhood a Sometimes the most beautiful parts of motherhood are the ones we’re holding closest to our chests right now. 🥂✨

Watching Aurora walk down this red carpet, my heart was doing backflips—not just from the excitement, but from a mama’s private prayer that she’d feel as steady as she is brave.

We’re navigating some new chapters behind the scenes, and seeing the world meet her with such quiet, intuitive grace brought me to tears. Minnie didn’t just pose for a photo; she saw a little girl who needed a steadying hand and gave it without a second thought.

It’s a reminder that even when the path feels a little shaky, there is always someone ready to help you find your balance. Holding this memory—and my girls—extra tight tonight.

Share this with a friend who needs a little reminder that magic is everywhere. ✨

In a city of salt-stained bricks and winter layers, sometimes a girl just needs a champagne coupe and a theater seat. 🥂

Last night, we swapped the “everyday” for the “extraordinary” at the Citizens Opera House. Kinky Boots is a rock’n’roll anthem to being exactly who you are, and honestly? My silver boots felt right at home. 🎸💎

Boston, go see this show - it’s at the Citizens Opera House through February 22. 🎭

It’s heart, soul, and a whole lot of high-heeled attitude.

Are you a “sensible boots” or “sparkle boots” kind of person? I think you know my preference! 💋

If you’re currently doom-scrolling through everyone else’s St. Barths stories while staring at a mountain of laundry and a gray February sky—breathe. I’ve got the ultimate stylish hack for my fellow “forgot-to-book-a-flight” mamas. 🥂

We’re trading the suburban puffer coats for 72 degrees of pure, neon bliss at the Orchid Adventure at Franklin Park Zoo. 🌺

It is a total mood shifter. Imagine thousands of stunning blooms, lush greenery, and gorillas lounging in the warmth—all wrapped in a gorgeous Victorian naturalist vibe (think: ornate curiosity cabinets, vintage shells, and 19th-century glam). It’s very Holly Golightly goes on safari, and I am here for it. 🐆✨

Whether you’re hunting for orchids or just hiding from the wind chill, it’s the perfect way to level up school vacation week without the airport stress. 🥂

The Details:
🗓️ Orchid Adventure runs through March 1st
📍 Franklin Park Zoo, Boston
🌡️ Tropical Forest Pavilion (It’s cozy, bring the layers!)
🎟️ Scavenger hunts & workshops included in admission

Go for the warmth, stay for the sparkle. ✨

Going for the Gold in “February Break Survival.” 🥇 Going for the Gold in “February Break Survival.” 🥇⛷️

I’ve got the outfits planned and the itinerary set, but as we head into the chaos of school vacation week, I’m realizing I might need an Olympic-level trainer. How do these athletes do it?!

If you’re looking for a place to pivot from “Mom Exhaustion” to “Alpine Chic,” head to the Frostival Lodge in Copley Square. Aurora and I stopped by last week to escape the chill, and it’s a total vibe. 🇮🇹❄️

Think: Italian Alps meets Boston grit. You can grab @eatalyboston treats, relax in a shoppable @Wayfair lounge, and watch the final Olympic events on the big screens. It’s the perfect “Gold Medal” moment for parents and kids alike.

📍 Where: Copley Square
When: Open daily from 11 AM - 9PM, February 6th - February 28th
🏆 Special Event: Closing Ceremony Watch Party on Feb 22nd!

TELL ME THIS: If Parenting was an Olympic sport, which event are you taking the Gold in this week?

🥈 Synchronized Nap-time
🥉 Heavy Lifting (aka the double stroller)
