I hate the cold. And when I have an event to go to in winter, I always struggle with what to wear. Add in the fact that we’re still in the middle of a pandemic and I am trying to stay as safe as possible, well that makes going to any fancy to-do seem impossible. But nothing is impossible and the truth is when you stop looking for something, that’s when it finds you.
Last year I attended a black-tie wedding and had pretty much resigned myself to repurposing a dress that was not quite black-tie appropriate. That’s when I found it: my new favorite dress. A pink confection from Eliza J that I could picture Grace Kelly wearing as she romanced Cary Grant in one of my favorite films, “To Catch a Thief”. And my wedding shoes and jewelry matched it perfectly! My Nunny leant me her faux pink fur stole and my mom gave me one of her many pink clutches to match. I found a silver sequin mask and between staying far away from everyone and keeping it on on except for dinner, I was able to stay safe. And yes, I did dye my hair to match my dress.
