Bonjour, mes cheries! 🩷

I have been in touch absent from the ‘gram and it’s all for a truly special reason. For the past six months, I’ve been completely immersed in a project that finally came to fruition last Saturday. It was the combination of countless hours, rehearsals, and a whole lot of heart: The Lion King Kids production! 🦁👑

We had two incredible shows, one I had the privilege of directing with 27 amazing young actors, and another directed by the fantastic program director, featuring 25 more talented kids. It was an absolute whirlwind, and honestly, it went off without a hitch! I’m so incredibly proud of every single one of them. ✨

i’m sharing a few personal photos with my family from after the show, but I’m intentionally not including any images or videos of the children involved to respect their privacy. 💖

Funny story: I never really envisioned myself as a teacher. Even the letter of a “summer off” couldn’t sway me. But this is my second year, working with these kids, and my first time stepping into the directors role (last year, I was the assistant director). And let me tell you, it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. 🥺

One parent asked me what I’d be doing with my Monday nights now that the show is over (Mondays were our regular rehearsal nights). In the moment, I just laughed, relieved that everything had gone so well and excited to reclaim my evenings. But, I’ll admit, I already miss those rehearsals! I genuinely miss teaching these kids and watching them grow. I’m crossing my fingers for the chance to do this again next fall. 🤞🏼

i’ve always struggled with being a “Yes” person. I tend to overcommit, trying to please everyone and avoid saying no. Over the past year, I’ve been consciously working on setting boundaries and saying “no” to things that don’t truly resonate with me. But I am so incredibly grateful that I took a chance and said “yes” to directing this play. It was a leap of faith, and it reminded me the life truly does work out for a reason. Sometimes, the most unexpected opportunities lead to the most incredible experiences. 🩷

Making memories with my little leprechauns on St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️

We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day all weekend long.

Just a few highlights:

☘️ I snapped some adorable photos of the girls in their festive outfits.
☘️ I reminisced with my mom about her grandmother, my namesake Catherine, who immigrated to the US from Ireland at just 16 years old. (You can read more about her incredible story on my Substack!)
☘️ We enjoyed delicious scones with clotted cream.
I baked a decadent Chocolate Guinness Cake with Irish cream frosting.
☘️ We set up my booth at Indy Clover and was thrilled to sell a bunch of my clothing!
☘️ We capped off the weekend with a spontaneous bubble party.

Definitely feeling the luck of the Irish.
