I am a bit of an Anglophile and I love royal watching. I was one of the millions that tuned in to watch both Kate and Will and Meghan and Harry tie the knot, getting up around 4 a.m. both days and indulging in champagne way, way before brunch time. One of my favorite podcasts is Royally Obsessed (I’m convinced hosts Kaitlin Menza and Lisa Ryan are bound to be my besties some day).

I also love the fashion. During my first trip to London, I purchased a Reiss dress that I had seen on Kate Middleton at the 2011 Epsom Derby. Since Meghan Markle came on the royals scene, I have been lusting after many of her looks, especially her jewelry. Which is why I was thrilled to discover one of Meghan’s favorite jewelry designers, Zofia Day. Meghan even gifted Kate Middleton, Jessica Mulroney, and Benita Litt, the three women involved in her wedding day, with a bracelet she designed with Zofia Day founder, Lisette Polny.

Delicate, dainty jewelry works well on my petite frame, and that’s what Zofia Day specializes in. So I ordered the Markle-approved Kensington bracelet immediately. But I like to do my research and when I was looking into Zofia Day, I found very little information about the woman behind the royally loved brand. So I reached out to Lisette. She shared with me how the Zofia Day line was started, where it’s going and how she gets the inspiration for her beautiful pieces.

Jewelry

Fashionably Kate &Co.: You have over a decade of experience in the fashion industry. What was that experience and how did that help you get to where you are today?

Lisette Polny: Well, my sister has had a boutique for over 20 years so she was my first introduction to the industry; I have to give her credit for all she has done for me.  But I’ve worked in all realms of the fashion world: sales, wholesale, design, merchandising, creative direction, buying. You name it I’ve done it.  I spent over ten years as a director of merchandising and design for a luxury lifestyle brand that really enriched my experience in the fashion industry and gave me a strong direction of the vision I have for Zofia Day Co.

Your line was named after your grandmother and your daughter. Do they also inspire the designs?

Unfortunately I never met my grandmother but she was a huge part of my dad’s life and had an exquisite sense of fashion and an amazing jewelry collection.  I definitely draw inspiration from the love she shared with my father and her gorgeous pieces!  My other grandma was a jeweler and my mom worked in the jewelry industry so there is a lot of energy coming from all of their experience.

My daughter is my universe and everything I do is for her and her future.  She has given me the empowerment to be strong, courageous and stay true to my vision.  More of my creative inspiration comes from Nature and the endless beauty it shares with us.

Your jewelry is mostly delicate and elegant but you also have an edge. That is such a hard balance to maintain. How do you balance it and also, is this your personal style?

My personal style is a little bit of everything. Some days I am edgy, some days I am bohemian, others classic.  My fashion style is very similar to my music taste.  I overall try to maintain a delicate nature and timeless sense to my design to allow it to transform into to whatever you are feeling for the day.

What are a few of your favorite pieces that you’ve created?

I love my organics collection, I am huge fan of slice diamonds and raw stones.  The Big Sur Slice ring, Reflective Slice studs, and Love ring.  I also love ear cuffs!  They are such fun way to play with your look!

What is your design process?

Inspiration comes first, then concept, then I sketch or piece together my design, pass off to my amazingly talented manufactures who understand my overall aesthetic, then prototype, approval and then off to full production.

Your stones are ethically sourced. Why is this important to you and the Zofia Day brand?

My company is based on good practice and ethics I would not have it any other way.

If you could describe Zofia Day in three words, what would those three words be?

All things beautiful…

Who is the Zofia Day customer? What do they love? Where do you want them to wear your jewelry?

It is amazing my clients range from 4 to 90 years old.  The brand is ageless. I want them to wear my pieces everyday wherever they may be going, as long as they bring them personal happiness.

Zofia Day has attracted a few celebrity customers. Even the Duchess of Sussex is a fan! What is it like seeing your designs on these famous faces?

It is an honor but to be honest I look at all my customers the same, we all are our own celebrity.

Zofia Day was founded six years ago. Where do you see your company going in the next 10 years?

I want to maintain longevity and to me that is staying true to who I am and what I believe in. My success is not determined by quantity but quality. That being said I want to continue being a boutique brand with an organic growth and following.  The area I would like to grow is my charity work, this is truly important to me and is the most rewarding aspect of having a successful brand.

What do you want the Zofia Day legacy to be?

To be remembered as a brand that was built on integrity.

Thank you so much to Lisette for speaking with us. For more on Zofia Day, check out their website and Instagram.

What it’s Like to Have a Miscarriage

April school vacation week, but make it chic. 🥂✨ April school vacation week, but make it chic. 🥂✨

Welcome to Part 2 of our favorite local “vacation” escapes!

We are balancing the beautiful chaos of kid energy with some unapologetic glamour this week. Because who says you can’t pair a stroller with a little coastal castle exploring?

Here is the itinerary for surviving (and actually enjoying) the week:

* The New England Aquarium: A Boston staple. Surviving the penguin exhibit before noon is basically an Olympic sport.
* House of Seven Gables: A dose of history with a slightly moody, coastal edge.
* Beauty and the Beast at the Citizen’s Opera House: Swapping the sneakers for something polished to take in some pure theater magic.
* The Malibu Barbie Cafe: Serving all the pink, playful sparkle, and unapologetic feminine energy for the girls.
* Hammond Castle: Stunning European stone architecture right on the water. No passport required.
* Castle Hill Crane Estate: We took the Cat’s Meow tour on Saturday and it was absolute twenties perfection.
* Avra: Sleek, chic, and strictly for the parents. You’ve earned a spectacular cocktail.

It’s high-low motherhood at its finest. No boarding pass required, just a great pair of sunglasses and a very strong espresso. ☕️🕶️

Happy Patriot’s Day! 🇺🇸✨ Most days, you’ll find m Happy Patriot’s Day! 🇺🇸✨

Most days, you’ll find me sharing our chicest travel itineraries, boutique hotel finds, and the beautifully curated chaos of packing stilettos and strollers for our next flight. And while building this travel diary is the absolute dream, I realized lately that I rarely drop a reel on the feed just for the pure, unscripted fun of it.

So today, we’re taking a detour from the polished programming. Throwing it back to 2022 in Lexington and 2023 in Concord, featuring a 3- and 4-year-old Arielle who was entirely committed to her role as a fiercely adorable Patriot soldier. History never looked so fabulous.

(A quick disclaimer before you turn the sound up: as much as it sounds like she’s passionately screaming “The bridges are coming!,” she is, in fact, warning us about the British. Context is everything, darlings. 🤺)

It’s a little raw, incredibly silly, and exactly the kind of offbeat memory that makes this whole motherhood gig the ultimate adventure. I am already plotting the exact moment I can wrangle Aurora into this very same uniform to reenact the reenactment.

Raise a glass to the history, the beautiful chaos, and the hilarious little moments in between! 🥂🗽

I was seven years old when I first saw Beauty and I was seven years old when I first saw Beauty and the Beast on stage. I had already decided I was destined to be an actress (obviously 💅), but sitting in that dark theater, watching a literal library come to life, I knew theater specifically was it. That was my spark.

Fast forward to this past week: a little bit of style, a lot of sparkle, and Broadway in Boston making absolute magic happen. Watching Arielle’s eyes light up exactly the way mine did when she is almost the same age? Utter perfection. 🥂✨

Beauty and the Beast is at the Citizen’s Opera House now through May 2.

What was the first show you ever saw that completely hooked you? Let me know below! 👇

Boston just got a whole lot more fabulous. 🪩🎀 SAVE Boston just got a whole lot more fabulous. 🪩🎀 SAVE this for your next Girls Day!

The Barbie Cafe has officially landed at Faneuil Hall (taking over the beloved Sugar Factory space for a few months!), and it is serving pure, unadulterated 1970s disco-glam magic.

Arielle, Aurora, and I put on our Barbie best to check it out on opening day, and it did not disappoint. From striking a pose in the life-size Barbie Box to eyeing everything in the boutique,

it’s the ultimate girls’ day out. I especially loved seeing them championing women-owned businesses with Cooper Street Snacks on hand—because empowered women empower women (and we also just really love a good snack).

It’s the perfect excuse to dress up, channel your inner Holly Golightly with a pop of pink, and make some wildly fun memories with your kids.

Confession time, darlings. Sometimes a girl just n Confession time, darlings. Sometimes a girl just needs to trade the toddler’s fish sticks for a flawless tin of caviar and a perfectly chilled bottle of champagne.

Last night, we got a VIP first look at Avra Estiatorio, and let me tell you—Back Bay just got a massive dose of Aegean glamour. Tucked into the new Lyrik development on Newbury Street, it feels exactly like stepping onto a whitewashed Greek island, complete with sculptural olive trees and the most stunning salt wall installations.

The move here is the signature seafood display. You literally pick your pristine, daily-catch fish right off the ice, and they grill it to perfection with hand-pressed olive oil from a family farm in the Peloponnese. It is brilliantly simple, and absolutely flawless.

I got to fully embrace the caviar-and-cocktails energy. It’s the ultimate soul reset.

Tag the person who owes you a chic Mediterranean date night below. Let’s get those reservations booked, loves! 👇🥂✨

Let’s be honest, darlings. New England in April is Let’s be honest, darlings. New England in April is basically a test of sheer maternal willpower. The calendar says spring, but the sky says, “Absolutely not.”

Enter my favorite sanity-saving hack: The Aqua Room in Gloucester. 🕶️💦

We skipped the TSA lines and booked a 2-hour slot at this indoor oasis, and it is pure VIP energy. For two hours, the girls get to burn off that unhinged, cooped-up energy, and I get to sit poolside in a chic cover-up, pretending we’ve been instantly teleported to a cabana in Palm Springs.

It is the ultimate soul reset. And because we don’t believe in doing a Gloucester trip halfway, we love to follow up our tropical illusion by swapping the swimsuits for something fabulous and grabbing a brilliant Italian dinner over at Tonno.

Paradise found, right on the North Shore.

Save this for the next time the weather (or your patience) refuses to cooperate. 🥂✨
