It’s a ….

Is it a boy? Is it a girl?

That’s what everyone has been asking us since they found out we are pregnant with bébé #2.

Today I am 26 weeks pregnant and we finally know what we are having. I could have found out right after 10 weeks but I’ve shared my thoughts on that here.

When we did our gender reveal with Arielle, we had a cake with pink frosting in the center to let us in on what we were having. But this time, we wanted Arielle to be involved.

So I asked Stephanie of Sukeban Creative to create a special box for us to open. I sent her a few directions and she pulled my vision to life. If we were having a boy, the box would house two Mickey Mouse stuffed animals, one for Arielle and one for this new baby that she would give to him when she gets to meet him in the hospital. If it was a girl, it would be two Minnie Mouse stuffed animals in the box.

Then I contacted my favorite family photographer, Isabella Fagone, and she agreed not only to take pictures of our gender reveal, but host our families for a small soirée as well. The photos came out amazing (as always) and she is the perfect hostess as everyone really enjoyed gathering together to witness the big moment!

Want to find out what we’re having? Watch below for our reveal!

Now you know …

It’s a GIRL!

As I said, Isabella captured some wonderful photos so I would be remiss if I didn’t include a few here.

With Arielle, I will not lie that I was hoping that she was a girl because I have always wanted a girl and for those 20 weeks that we had to wait to find out, I was convinced she was a girl. This time I was also convinced I was having a girl. However, I swear that I would have been thrilled to have a boy. I even had a boy’s name picked out, just in case.

But I will admit that seeing those pink balloons inside the box, I could feel tears coming to my eyes, as well as validation that my “mother’s intuition” had been right. It felt so good to know that I was so intune with my body.

To be honest, I don’t think Arielle really understood what was going on. She was just so excited to be able to play with a box full of balloons in her favorite color. Now that we’ve had a week and a half to really explain it to her, she’s finally getting the idea and she cannot wait to share her “baby clothes” with her baby sister.

And of course, what party would be complete without cake? My mom had found these vintage Mickey and Minnie ceramic figurines on Etsy to put on top and they fit the “theme” perfectly.

My mom is always such a big help with Arielle and we are so lucky that she’s around to help us out with our next petite fille now! If you can’t tell, she was #teamgirl in her pink but I know she would have also loved a little boy. She had given Arielle her special crown that she wore for the photos.

We were also thrilled to have my Nunny, Arielle Marie’s namesake (Nunny is named Marie) at the big reveal. She will be 102 in June, right after bébé #2 is due. She gifted us a slew of vintage baby shoes that my Aunt Betty had made when she worked for the Ideal Baby Shoe, an iconic shoe company that no longer exists. We lost my Aunt Betty in 2008 when she was 93 years old. She and I had always had a special bond, so this gift was extra meaningful.

This has to be my favorite photo from the moment. I look so excited (I was and still am), Arielle looks like her happy little self with her new Minnie doll and the one to gift to her baby sister, and Alex looks so pleased. He really is a girl dad.

Thank you all so much for all of your messages of love and support as we go on this journey to expand our family. I cannot wait to share more updates with you on my pregnancy, as well as when our second little girl arrives!

What it’s Like to Have a Miscarriage

S⭐️I⭐️X Darling Arielle, six years have s S⭐️I⭐️X

Darling Arielle, six years have spun by like the most enchanting carousel ride! ✨

Watching you blossom into the most incredible big sister has been the adventure of a lifetime.

Your sparkling personality? It doesn’t just grow, it positively dazzles more and more with each passing day.

From tiny toes to a heart overflowing with love and laughter, you paint our world with such vibrant hues.

I hope you know that the thing that brings me the most joy in this world, that I am proudest of, is that I am your mama.

Happy 6th Birthday to my rockstar, my sunshine, my everything! 💖🎂

Well, the cap has been tossed and the diploma is i Well, the cap has been tossed and the diploma is in hand. Arielle is officially a preschool graduate! 🎓

To say I’m proud would be the understatement of the century. For the last three years, we have been so incredibly lucky to be part of a school community that didn’t just teach her letters and numbers, but celebrated her for exactly who she is. They saw her fire, her humor, and her unique spirit not as something to be managed, but as an asset. They let her shine.

It’s everything you could ever want for your child, isn’t it? So often, the world seems eager for our kids to talk and walk, only to then spend years telling them to sit down and be quiet. My hope for her next chapter is that she lands in a place that continues to nurture her spirit.

And I’ll be honest, after the graduation was over and the house was quiet this afternoon, I cried. Some might think it’s silly to cry over a preschool graduation, but it’s a real step. For me, Arielle is my mini-me, and I know all too well what it feels like to have your light dimmed by people who don’t understand you. So yes, there were tears. Tears of pride for the amazing little human she is, tears of excitement for her future, and tears of nervousness for what’s to come.

Feeling all the feelings today. Swipe to see my sweet, smart, incredible graduate. ❤️

Okay, darlings, what a weekend this has been! My h Okay, darlings, what a weekend this has been! My heart is just soaring after watching my amazing Arielle shine.

Seriously, Arielle was just incredible at her dance recital! ✨

Her ballet was so graceful and sweet, and her tap performance was pure energy and fun – I couldn’t stop smiling. Seeing her up on that stage, so confident and happy, was truly one of those perfect mom moments.

It definitely brought back so many memories of my own dancing days. I loved performing, but I also remember dealing with some mean-spiritedness back then, and I’m so determined to make sure Arielle’s experience is different. I really think we’ve found such a wonderfully supportive and kind dance studio for her. It feels like a true dance home, and that means the world to me.

And hold onto your hats, because the dance adventure continues! My little Aurora was so captivated by Arielle’s performance (she was practically trying to climb onto the stage herself!), so I just had to sign her up for the 2-year-old class next year! 🎀

Oh my goodness, I can only imagine the adorable chaos, but I am so ready for it. Two tiny dancers in the house – get ready!

And as if that wasn’t enough excitement, after the recital, we celebrated Arielle graduating from preschool!

From her beautiful dances to her little graduation, it was a weekend packed with milestones and so much pride.

It’s been such an emotional and wonderful few days, a beautiful reminder of how quickly they grow and how important it is to soak in all these precious moments. So much joy, so much to look forward to! So incredibly proud of my girls. 💖

Darlings, a little heart-to-heart for Mental Healt Darlings, a little heart-to-heart for Mental Health Awareness Month? My soul sighed relief for this reminder. 🌸

With my therapist, I shared my ‘grand plan’: track every minute to find more time...for more doing! (Life’s a whirlwind with school events, Arielle’s graduation, birthdays, a trip – you know the beautiful chaos!) Bless my ever-striving heart. 😂

Her kind revelation: what if that ‘extra’ time was a gift to myself? My mind yelled, ‘But how, darling?! So much to do!’, but my heart whispered, ‘Yes.’

This led me to reflect on 2022’s tender wounds: two silent heartbreaks, goodbyes that marked my soul. Then, learning the shadow I carried was PPD (yes, even without a baby home then – a shock). Our precious Aurora Rose, our rainbow, arrived like a sunbeam. I hoped she’d mend everything, but true healing, I’m learning, is a gentle pilgrimage inward, even amidst her joy. ✨

I see now my whirlwind of ‘doing’ was often a dance to avoid unprocessed grief & depression. My ADHD is part of my sparkle, but it also shielded a heart not yet ready to be still and feel.

So this May, I’m tenderly rewriting ‘self-care.’ It’s more than appointments; it’s nurturing my inner landscape: a joyful novel, a quiet coffee, the radical act of being. Understanding that asking for help is strength. Am I giving my loved ones my best, or just what’s left from an empty cup?

My heartfelt desire: be a joyful, present mother, a loving partner, and kind to myself. It’s not a quick-fix, my loves, but a gentle journey home to myself, one heartfelt step at a time.

What tender acts of self-kindness are you embracing this month? I’d be so honored to hear your heart on this.
