It’s that time of year when the days can still be warm, especially in the sun. But as dusk settles in, it can get a bit chilly which is why I find myself turning more and more to my fall staples. Here are a few tips on how to transition your summer dress to a fabulous fall outfit.
Grab a Hat
When I was a kid before I left the house my mom would make me put on a hat on cold days. If I argued about it she would say, “heat escapes from the top of your head so a hat will keep you warm.” Boy, have I been grateful for that advice over the years. If you want to add a fall touch and stay warm, add a wide-brimmed felt hat to your ensemble. Or I always love a pretty beret or newsboy cap.
Boots can be your Best Friend
From mid-May to almost the end of September you will almost always find me in flip flops or sandals. But boots can be so chic when the weather takes a turn and they come in so many different styles! My favorite are thigh highs and ankle booties.
There are several other ways to add some fall flair to your look as well as a layer of warmth. An oversized scarf in a pretty pattern is perfect for over the shoulders. And you can always add tights under your boots.
