Two years ago we made the trip down to Rhode Island to visit Wicked Tulips at their Exeter, RI location as a spring adventure. We loved this beautiful day trip as we also got to stop in Wickford, RI, a quaint little seaside village.
So when Wicked Tulips reached out and asked if I’d be interested in coming back down and checking out one of their other locations, I immediately said yes. Arielle really loves all of the beautiful colors and one of her favorite things to do is run up and down the rows of blooms.
While our schedule didn’t allow for us to return to the Exeter, RI location before it closed for the season, we were able to visit their Johnston, RI field. They also have an even larger location in Preston, CT. Currently they plan to keep the Preston location open until May 10, while the Johnston, RI location is selling tickets through May 12.
If you’re planning a visit to Wicked Tulips
Tickets are a timed entry but once you are in the field you’re allowed to stay in there for as long as you’d like. Adult tickets are $23 on the weekends and $20 on weekdays and they include 10 tulips. On weekdays after 2 p.m. adult tickets are $17 and still includes 10 tulips. Children 4 and under are free while those between 5 and 17 are $5 and tickets can be used any day. While they don’t include tulips, kids tickets never sell out. If you end up going over your allotted amount of u-pick tulips, they are $1 per stem.
Wicked Tulips does provide buckets for the stems you pick and before you check out, you can choose either to have a professional wrap your bouquets for you for $5 (which is donated to charity) or you can wrap your own.
They also offer yoga classes in the fields on select mornings at 9 a.m. and sunset yoga at 6:30 p.m., weather permitting. Classes are $35 and include 10 tulips.
Visiting tulips fields in New England has become a springtime tradition for our family and I cannot wait for next year when we’ll have another little one tip toeing through the tulips!
Make sure to check out video of our trip over on Instagram.
Thank you so much, Wicked Tulips, for having us!
