We recently had the best “staycation” in Somerville, Massachusetts at the Holiday Inn Bunker Hill. What I never realized is how this Boston suburb is such a great spot for family adventures. We enjoyed dinner at The Independent, known locally as The Indo. I have never tried oysters before but we had to take advantage of their Monday night $1 oyster special. Now I can’t wait to have oysters again – preferably at The Indo! Arielle loved the mac’n’cheese and we all enjoyed the huge brownie sundae – so good!

With curated sections dedicated to children’s literature, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and frequent story times (we just missed the Tuesday 11:30 Squirrel Story session during our visit), it’s an ideal place to foster a love of reading in your children. Let them browse the shelves, pick out their next favorite book, and curl up in a cozy corner with a captivating story.
