The other day I shared my favorite Summer films. And while one of my favorite summer activities is to curl up and watch a great action/adventure flick, preferably at a Drive-in, I do plan on getting a lot in this summer. Here is my summer bucket list!
Celebrate Everything
We just finished celebrating Arielle’s birthday, now on to Independence Day! In our area, July 4th is a pretty big deal. But with Covid the festivities were canceled in 2020 and 2021. We did get to spend last Independence Day on Mt. Monadnock, which was beautiful. But I’m thrilled that things are getting somewhat back to normal and our traditional parade and fireworks are back on schedule.
I’ll also be celebrating my birthday and our 8th wedding anniversary in August. I’m not sure what we’ll do to commemorate the occasion yet but I loved our rooftop rendezvous for our 6th anniversary and our trip to the Trapp Family Lodge for #7.
Staying Cool with Beach & Pool Days
Arielle loves to splash in her little pool whenever she gets the chance so we’ll be taking advantage of that as much as possible. But we’d also like to get to the beach at least a few days this summer. It’s a lot of work, especially with a toddler, but oh so worth it to feel the sand between my toes.
Take a Family Vacation
We don’t have anything planned just yet, so I definitely need to jump on this! We loved our trip to Newport in December, and I’d like to visit this legendary coastal refuge for the wealthy in summer.
Enjoy Day Trips around New England
Later this week we’ll be visiting the Stone Zoo for their Supersized Creatures event and so Arielle can see all her animal friends. We’ll also be taking spontaneous visits to places like Portsmouth, Newburyport, Rockport and Providence for Waterfire at some point.
A few years ago I was so lucky to be treated to a day trip to Nantucket with NIR Retail and I am excited to be going once again in a few weeks. I’ll make sure to share my updated Nantucket travel guide once I get back.
We’re also hoping to get in a few baseball games at Fraser Field to cheer on the North Shore Navigators, and maybe get in a boat trip down the Charles River.
Visiting Family
It would be nice to visit Peterborough, NH again to see my Uncle George. He has the most beautiful home in the mountains and it’s always nice to catch up. I also love visiting my godparents in Westford whenever I get the chance. And we try to get by Nunny’s as much as possible. It’s one of the highlights of our week!
As you can see, we have a lot planned for the next few months. But we had such a great time last summer so I am very excited for what this season will bring! And don’t forget the SPF and other beauty must-haves, even when you’re on the go.
