Welcome back to another edition of The Lust List. Last week I took a break from shopping and used my money to donate to several causes related to eliminating racism and supporting the families of those who have lost their lives such as George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery.
This week I’m sharing a few books that I recently picked up to continue my education on becoming an ally to the Black Lives Matter Movement. And since I believe you’re never too young to learn, I also ordered some board books focused on diversity and antiracism for Arielle.
This is in addition to the articles I have already read. Here are a few I’d recommend:
- “What To Do When You Are Called Racist” by Rebecca Haines | The Washington Post
- “Some Of My Best Friends Are Black” by John Eligon | The New York Times
- “The ‘I’m Not Racist’ Defense” by Elliot Williams|CNN
- “6 Questions to Stop Asking Your Black Friends Right Now” by @dynastihunt | Instagram
- “How To Make Sure You’re Donating Effectively” by Amanda Arnold | The Cut
- “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack” by Peggy McIntosh
- “Who Gets to Be Afraid in America?” by Dr. Ibram X. Kendi | The Atlantic
What are you lusting after this week?
