It’s that time of year and this season holiday office parties seem to be back in a big way! I actually went to Alex’s last Friday at Fenway Park (pictures below) and I geeked out a bit at being able to hang out in an abandoned major league park all dressed up.
I feel like these days dress codes have gone out the window at what has been historically formal events, but people are so tired of sweats they are pulling back out some sparkle. Here is what to wear to your office holiday party this year.
If You Want/Need to play it Safe
While I love to make a statement, I realize that many offices have a conservative dress code that translates to its outings. I will always advocate for wearing sequins but if you stick to a neutral palette, in this case black, and a conservative silouhette, you can get away with a little sparkle. My skirt is under $20 and it is so comfortable, and my top is on sale for $15!
If You can Take a Risk
I’m not going to lie, even when I worked for CTV, I was known for my fashion choices and would go all out for the holiday party. I’m talking metallics and sequins. This year I brought back that attitude for Alex’s work party and it was the right decision as we had the most amazing backdrop in Fenway park.
I picked up this silver draped dress at Nordstrom Rack but found a few similar styles at Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale’s, Lulu’s and Express. This faux fur red coat I bought years ago in Quebec City but I’m obsessed with this belted faux fur coat from Eloquii.
