I’m Pregnant!

January 2, 2023

pregnancy-announcement

It feels so incredible to finally share our very big news: We are expecting a baby in June 2023!

travel-pregnancy-announcement

Keeping this a secret has been no easy fête. While I am still not really showing, I’ve been dealing with severe morning sickness (more on this to follow) that has really slowed me down work-wise. At the same time, this has been the busiest holiday season of my influencer career and it has been hard to turn down all the free cocktails while pregant – thank goodness for mocktails!

But after going through two miscarriages in the first half of 2022, I really wanted to keep our little secret until I was further along. We also wanted to explain this new chapter in our lives to Arielle, and then with our families before sharing it online. Call me old fashioned, but I’m a bit superstitious that way.

Now that the word is “out” I have so many fun updates and photos to share with you all, including how we told Arielle and our families, and how I’ve been keeping up with life (hint: barely).

So much is still up in the air, including the gender for Bébé #2, but one thing I do know is it’s going to be quite the adventure!

A big thank you to my good friend, Jessie Wyman of Jessie Wyman Photography, for capturing this special moment for us.

I’m Pregnant!

What it’s Like to Have a Miscarriage

Fifteen years ago, I traded my usual vintage glam Fifteen years ago, I traded my usual vintage glam for a press badge and stepped onto the most famous stretch of ruby-red fabric in the world: the Oscars red carpet. ✨🎬

Originally, the dream looked a little different. I always pictured myself in custom couture, waiting for my name to be called from a gold envelope. But when I realized acting wasn’t my calling and I traded the audition room for the newsroom, TV journalism became the new hustle. (Though let’s be real, I’m still young, and a girl never completely closes the door on a dazzling plot twist! 😉🥂)

Standing on that carpet wasn’t just a career milestone, though. It was a deeply personal victory lap for three distinct reasons:
1️⃣ The Sweet Taste of Vindication: My paternal “grandmother” once told me I was entirely silly to think I’d ever make it to the Oscars. Earning my spot on that carpet—and getting to tell her about it while she was still around and we were still speaking—was pure, unapologetic vindication.

2️⃣ For Uncle Fred: He was my mom’s best friend from high school and a legendary Hollywood talent manager who handled icons like Geena Davis and Hugh Grant. He was supposed to manage me and sweep me off to Hollywood when I turned 14. We lost him to a massive heart attack when I was just 10. It shattered me because he was the one person who truly understood me. His photo was even featured in the Oscars’ In Memoriam the year he passed. Standing under those bright lights, the grief shifted into magic. It felt like I had finally reconnected with him.

3️⃣ The Power of the Protest: The Oscars always remind me that art and film are, at their core, a fierce form of protest. The world looked different 15 years ago, but the need to speak up never fades. Cinema is how we make our voices loud and clear. We will always need passionate filmmakers who are willing to shake the table and speak their truth.

From a starry-eyed kid with a dream to a mom chasing adventures and living out loud—never let anyone tell you your goals are “silly.” Keep the heels high and the standards higher. 🖤✨

I absolutely love creating content. It’s my person I absolutely love creating content. It’s my personal stage and editorial desk—a place where I get to blend my acting and journalism backgrounds to share my exact, unfiltered take on the world. Naturally, as a Leo, I’m drawn to the spotlight. But if I’m being completely honest, sometimes this extroverted path weighs on me.

When you’ve spent years doing everything for everyone (T. Swift’s ‘eldest daughter’ club, anyone?), it is dangerously easy to slip into the role of the background character. Double that when you become a mom. Between the activities, the appointments, and the playdates, the spotlight fades, and you suddenly feel like your only defining roles are chauffeur and 24/7 snack machine. You get so used to playing the practical, safe background player that you forget who you actually are.

And who I am is champagne, not soda. I am wonderfully, unapologetically over the top.

But forcing that girl into a practical box makes it incredibly hard to just show up on social media and be “on.” I’ve been quiet lately because, when the lens finally focuses on me, that lingering doubt creeps in: Am I worth the focus? It reminds me of my very first therapy session after a traumatic incident. I sat there talking for an hour, genuinely believing I was being an open book. At the end, my therapist looked at me and said, “Come back next week, and be ready to talk about yourself.” I had spent the entire session raving about how wonderful my fiancé was, how smart my sister was, and how much my mom sacrificed. And that was before kids. I can’t even imagine the deflection I’d pull now.

So, it’s time to stop apologizing for taking up space. I am taking a second to remind myself that it is okay to be the main character. It is okay to be “too much.”

I will still share my girls—you’ll absolutely still see plenty of them here!—but as they grow toward needing their own privacy, I’m shifting the focus a little more onto me. My journey, my life, and my motherhood, all captured strictly through my lens. I think it’s good to have something that is fiercely my own.
We’ll see how this goes, but I’m ready to step back into the light. 🥂✨

They say well-behaved women rarely make history, b They say well-behaved women rarely make history, but I prefer to think that the Lionesses who raised us simply didn’t have time for the script.

Today is for the women who taught us that “grit” looks just as good in sequins as it does in a suit. Looking at my girls against this disco wall, wrapped in winter layers and unapologetic pink, I’m struck by the heritage we’re building. In today’s political climate, raising girls who are “too loud,” “too much,” or “too bold” isn’t just a parenting choice—it’s a revolution.

Here’s the plot twist I didn’t see coming: By finding my voice to advocate for them over the last few years, I finally stumbled upon my own. I’m teaching them to speak their minds, to demand their seat at the table (or dance on top of it), and to never dim their sparkle for someone else’s comfort. We are products of the women who fought before us, and we are the architects for the girls beside us.

To the women who raised me, the women I’m raising, and the women who refuse to be quiet: Happy International Women’s Day. Keep the grit, keep the glam, and never let them tell you pink isn’t a power color. 💖✨

I missed The Traitors last night, and I am currently in a state of high-stakes catch-up.

Consider this my formal warning: Do not call, do not text, and for the love of all things velvet and dramatic, NO SPOILERS. If you ruin the banishment for me, I’m voting you off the island—or at least out of my group chat.

I’ve got my champagne, my cozy spot, and a burning need to know who’s being “banished” next. See you on the other side of the Highlands! 🏰✨

Sometimes the most beautiful parts of motherhood a Sometimes the most beautiful parts of motherhood are the ones we’re holding closest to our chests right now. 🥂✨

Watching Aurora walk down this red carpet, my heart was doing backflips—not just from the excitement, but from a mama’s private prayer that she’d feel as steady as she is brave.

We’re navigating some new chapters behind the scenes, and seeing the world meet her with such quiet, intuitive grace brought me to tears. Minnie didn’t just pose for a photo; she saw a little girl who needed a steadying hand and gave it without a second thought.

It’s a reminder that even when the path feels a little shaky, there is always someone ready to help you find your balance. Holding this memory—and my girls—extra tight tonight.

Share this with a friend who needs a little reminder that magic is everywhere. ✨
