What We’ve Been Loving Lately (February ’23 Edition)

Welcome back to the February edition of What We’ve Been Loving Lately! In this installment of our wrap-up of a few of the things we’ve been into over the past few weeks, we’re sharing life updates, what we’ve been watching and what we’ve crossed off of our shopping list. It’s a …?

We just found out if we’re having a boy or a girl and while I won’t reveal the news just yet (waiting for the pictures from our fabulous family photographer), I will just say we are very excited to finally know. I recently hit 24 weeks pregnant and I’m feeling much better than I did during my first trimester though the heartburn is real. I also still have morning sickness once and a while, but nothing terrible. 

Prepping for a Busy Spring

February was chock full of fun opportunities like our stay at The Coach House and then a fam trip with Destination Salem that helped me to rediscover my love for this culturally-rich area. Now, with the exception of some events and day trips here and there, late winter/early spring is going to be all about getting ready for baby. I have Alex working on some home improvement projects and I am busy cleaning out the nursery to make room for baby clothes. 

We also need to plan a birthday party for Miss Arielle and she has her dance recital and preschool graduation ceremony (from her first year) in May as well. Life is about to get even crazier, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

What’s on TV

We just finished up a rewatch of The Big Bang Theory and I forgot how good that show was. I had been a fan of the series from almost the beginning and definitely cried during the final episode (and did again just the other night when we watched it).  When we moved into our home in 2012 and didn’t have any kind of cable or streaming systems, we relied on DVDs of the series to entertain ourselves so binge-watching it brought back some fond memories of our first days living together. 

If anyone has any suggestions for similar shows with a ton of short episodes, please let me know as we are going to need some new entertainment options as we prepare for baby!

What we Bought in February

We had a real cold snap at the beginning of the month so we ordered a draft blocker off of Amazon in anticipation for our porch door. It is low profile and works wonderfully! Also for the cold snap I grabbed these gloves that are supposedly good for super chilly weather without being bulky. Let me tell you, they do the job. If you live in an area with tough winters or you’re planning on going somewhere with cold weather (Iceland, anyone?) you need these gloves in your life. 

I don’t know if you’re aware of the new Disney Junior show, Superkitties, but it has become a favorite in our household and Arielle insisted on getting a tee with her favorite character as well as her mémère’s favorite kitty. I cannot wait for them to wear their matching tees together this spring. 

I am a sucker for limited edition anything so when Le Specs emailed me that my favorite sunglasses ever would be available in pink, I had to pick up a a pair (or two!). 

And finally, I’ll be sharing more soon about our gender reveal but I picked up these gorgeous table clothes for the party which were a huge hit (and can double as a photo backdrop) and this tank dress as part of my outfit. Can’t wait to share those pictures and the news with you all soon!
